ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Repairer Certification

Course Prerequisite: ASSE Tester Certification 

This three-day advanced course is for individuals currently holding ASSE Backflow Assembly Tester certification. Time is spent both in the classroom and the working lab. This advanced course provides
the experienced tester with hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of backflow assemblies
from various manufacturers. The instructor will discuss advanced testing, trouble-shooting and safety procedures. Daily breaks are scheduled. By the end of this course, participants should be able to
perform the following:

• Analyze the cause for failure of a reduced pressure principle backflow prevention assembly
• Field test two different backflow prevention assemblies
• Disassemble different backflow prevention assemblies using knowledge of proper procedures
and special tools while following manufacturer’s instructions.
• Demonstrate safety procedures while repairing a backflow prevention assembly.
• Score a minimum of 70% correct answers on an exam.
• Successfully complete a practical performance exam consisting of disassembly and reassembly
of at least 5 assemblies.
Individuals successfully completing the course will receive a certificate from ASSE.
Class Size: Minimum-12, Maximum - 16.

DRWA Cancellation and Refund Policy 
Effective October 1, 2024

If attendees do not attend class on their own accord, no refunds will be issued. Attendees will receive that dollar amount in credit only to be used within six months from the issue date. Full refunds or credits will be issued only when attendees have provided three days advance notice of their anticipated non-attendance. If DRWA cancels or reschedules a course, attendees can request a full refund or full dollar amount credit to be used within six months from the issue date.

Extenuating circumstances may be discussed with the Executive Director.
