In this presentation you will learn the basic principals of underground utility locating and the importance of grounding your system to establish a complete circuit. You will gain the knowledge to ensure utilizing the best locating systems, installation techniques, giving you accuracy for detection. The instructor will then provide a review of shoring systems, both existing and new systems entering the market. Discussion will focus on how and where to safely assemble and deploy these systems. With an outline of safe practices you will learn about how to classify soils under OSHA guidelines.
Dave Rockacy is a Sales Manager for Rockacy and Associates, Inc. with over 18 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry. He has received the 2014 "Trainer of the Year" Award from Maryland Rural Water Association. He is actively involved in the regional Rural Water Associations in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. He Chaired the Chesapeake AWWA Distribution Committee. His experience also includes knowledge in the air valve industry, large diameter water and sewer pipe, horizontal directional drilling, pipe bursting, pipeline rehabilitation, trench safety, asset management and many other related products and installation procedures.
